Topic: English HoV client @ German HoV server

This topic lists the bugs one (can) get when playing on a German HoV server with an English HoV client - or at least bugs I've experienced myself under such conditions (and it probably doesn't serve any purpose other than to fuel my hatred towards the bugged German HoV release).

DM-Bothvar

• Small Wooden Shield invisible.
• Small Wooden Shield invisible - no shield meter is shown when picking up a Small Wooden Shield.
• -
• Following a death in TDM, the player model may lose team coloring, as if playing DM. The player is still in the team, however, and cannot attack teammates. NEW

DM-Fentox

• Dwarven Work Sword invisible.
• -
• Picking up a Dwarven Work Sword from its spawn resets the position of the camera.
• Picking up a Dwarven Work Sword from a slain enemy fixes the position of the camera (+ turns one's player into a red stickman).

DM-Hudson

• Trial Pit Mace invisible. NEW
• Trial Pit Mace invisible - picking up messes up your mouse rotation (turning is very jerky and unwilling). NEW
• Viking Axe invisible.
• Viking Axe invisible - picking up makes your idle stance 'animation' change.
• Viking Axe invisible - picking up can also render your character invisible to yourself.
• Viking BroadSword invisible.
• Viking BroadSword invisible - picking up from slain enemy makes your idle stance 'animation' change.
• Viking Short Sword invisible.
• Viking Short Sword invisible - picking up makes your client freeze; Task Manager needed to exit game.
• -
• Odd error message shown in the message area when picking up a weapon; eg. "Game is not pauseable." and "Failed to change view."
• The red stickman is shown on one's player's skin with/without picking up bugged weapons.

DM-Rotarena

• Trial Pit Mace invisible.
• Trial Pit Mace invisible - picking up resets resets the position of the camera to "first person".
• Trial Pit Mace invisible - picking up freezes your player, making it impossible to interact with the game.

DM-SacredVault

• Trial Pit Mace invisible.
• Trial Pit Mace invisible - picking up resets your stance 'animation' for a short while.
• Trial Pit Mace invisible - picking up freezes your player, making it impossible to interact with the game other ways than suiciding. Doing so puts you into 'limbo' mode, making you move around - unable of attacking or picking up weapons - as if you were spectating.

General

• Players with a German HoV using HoV specific skins become invisible to players with an English HoV (may be server language independent - joining a German HoV server with an English HoV using a HoV specific skin isn't possible, though).

I usually experiance only few bugs, like not seeing some players that use HOV skins. Also I had similar stickman effect some time when picking up broadsword in hudson in gaiscedachs. I played a clanwar against killraven and we had to ditch bothvar alltogether because camera didn't follow my player but stayed at the spawnpoint. Nothing helped, so hildir it was.

I've also had those bugs, with trialpit, but usually I see many of them in my body.

Ah, yes - think I've seen players jump around with an invisible Trial Pit Mace and two or three of them visibly attached to various places on their bodies too.

Updated with some Trial Pit Mace related behavior on DM-Hudson and loss of team color in DM-Bothvar experienced recently on the Redeemers of Agony server.

It also seems like I'm not the only player with issues on the Redeemers of Agony server.

Thanks, but no thanks... they have far too many restrictions to limit oneself with - or at least they had last time I visited them; no chat-, climb-, pickup-, spawn-killing to mention a few, if I remember correctly .

I stick to the unrestricted gameplay on the Memoria or Fruit servers... it's only when those are full I venture onto those bugged German servers .

I wouldn't know if they are bugged or not, as I havn't played much on any of them, but if they run on the German HoV... odds are they are (bugged).
