RUNE Classic release information

Human Head Studios just announced that "the classic Viking third person hack-and-slash melee game will be released on Steam within a week after June 8th. Rune Classic presents the original Rune and the Multiplayer Expansion Pack Halls of Valhalla. Thwart Loki and his minions and stop Ragnarok, the Norse End of Days, from destroying the world. Replenish your strength with mead, meat, and lizards. Call down the power of the gods to charge your weapons with fierce Rune powers. New enemies, new Steam Achievements, and updated levels await the intrepid Viking within you. Experience Rune's notorious multiplayer in vicious, darkly humorous up close and personal melee action. Bring swords, maces, hammers, axes, and your opponent's severed head or arm to the fray. Includes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Arena, and Headball. Ever had to hold off a horde of savage Norsemen while bank-shooting a bloody head through a stone hoop."

Also as announced earlier this week by Laurie "the DeepMinded" Wise, Goddess/Administrator, Human Head is requesting server hosts to contact them for prep information regarding MP. Server hosters should contact them at The new Steam 1.10 version includes a "compatability mode" to allow Rune 1.07 players to join 1.01 servers, which means the game basically needs to be restarted to allow the new executables to reload original packages.
